12 MM 5 MP Machine Vision Lens, 2/3-Inch Format, C-Mount, F1.4–16
The Kyptec Automation® 12 MM 5 MP Machine Vision Lens combines a short focal length with a fast F1.4 aperture for industrial cameras using a 2/3-inch sensor format. Its C-mount construction provides straightforward integration with compatible machine vision cameras, while the F1.4–16 aperture range gives system designers broad control over light throughput and depth of field.
With a 12 MM focal length, the lens captures a wider field than 16 MM, 25 MM or 35 MM alternatives under equivalent sensor and working-distance conditions. This allows a comparatively large object width to fit within the camera image even when available stand-off distance is limited.
The lens is engineered for 5 megapixel optical resolution, helping ensure that compatible camera sensors receive an image with sufficient spatial detail. Optical resolution must be considered alongside sensor pixel count because the overall system can only resolve features that are preserved through both the lens and detector.
The F1.4 maximum aperture provides high light throughput, which can be valuable when exposure times are constrained. Where additional illumination is available, stopping down can increase the usable depth of field and make focus less sensitive to small variations in object position.
This balance of wide-field geometry, 5 MP resolution and high light collection makes the 12 MM lens a strong short-focal-length option in the Kyptec Automation® 2/3-inch lens family.
