35 MM 10 Megapixel Machine Vision Lens for 2/3-Inch Industrial Cameras

Kyptec Automation® supplies a 35 MM 10 MP Machine Vision Lens designed around the optical requirements of 2/3-inch industrial camera sensors. The lens provides 10 megapixel resolving capability, a standard C-mount interface and an F2.8–16 aperture range for controlled high-resolution image acquisition.

The 35 MM focal length provides a useful intermediate field of view within a machine vision optical system. It produces a narrower imaging angle than shorter 8 MM, 12 MM, 16 MM or 25 MM lenses while remaining less restrictive than a 50 MM focal length. This gives system designers flexibility when balancing sensor size, field width, camera distance and desired object magnification.

Optical resolution is particularly important when integrating a 10 MP industrial camera. The final image quality is determined by the complete imaging chain, and a sensor can only record spatial information that the lens successfully transfers to the image plane. Selecting optics with appropriate resolving capability therefore helps ensure that the camera's pixel resolution is effectively utilized.

The 2/3-inch image format and C-mount construction provide straightforward compatibility with a widely used industrial camera architecture, while aperture adjustment allows illumination and depth of field to be optimized for the imaging geometry.
